This shoe was probably made for an individual horse with cracked hooves or another veterinary problem. The shoe is quite flat and it has a groove or fuller for the nail holes. There are eight small nail hole towards the toe of the shoe The shoe probably dates from the 18th or 19th century, although it is not easy to be accurate about the age of a blacksmith
