The subject matter is in places heavy and ominous ("Amateur Night", "Intoxicated Hands") but elsewhere light and funny ("Texas to Ohio", "Matinee"). But mostly these short songs resemble bluegrass and old hymns sung fantastically by Jurado and Rosie Thomas.
